Goodwood Trophy

The start of the main event at Goodwood's first race meeting on September 18th 1948, with Reg Parnell's winning 4CLT Maserati coming through from the third row of the grid. Bob Gerard's pre-war E.R.A., no. 21, challenged Parnell mightily for the lead in the last three laps, finishing only four tenths of a second behind. David Hampshire was third in E.R.A. no. 24, and Cuth Harrison's modified E.R.A. no. 18 finished fourth.
